From the 1st Saturday through the 2nd weekend of October, in Albuquerque, New Mexico about a million people gather in and near the Albuquerque Balloon Park to witness over 700 balloons take part in the mass ascensions and balloon glows in the huge annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. The spectacular mass ascensions take place in the early mornings on the weekends and at least once during the week.
