Hamburg Airport Information and help desks Airport information desks are located on level 1 of Terminals 1 and 4. The airport office (tel: 40 50 75 10 10), located in between Terminals 3 and 4 (Departures level), provides airport information, travel insurance and many other services.
Airport Facilities The airport's facilities are concentrated in Terminal 4. There are banks and ATMs (in Terminals 3 and 4), a post office, courier services, pharmacy and first aid facilities as well as restaurants, bars, cafés and a variety of shops including duty-free.
Disabled Facilities Disabled travellers are asked to notify the airport information desk of their needs (tel: 40 50 75 25 57).
Business Facilities The airport office (tel: 40 50 75 10 10), between Terminals 3 and 4, can provide business services including fax, photocopying and typing. Fax machines and internet Terminals can be found in Terminal 4 on the departures level. The Hanseatic Conference Centre in Terminal 4 (tel: 40 50 75 33 38; fax: 40 50 75 18 42) provides eleven meeting rooms of various sizes, as well as business services such as fax, photocopying and translation.
Car Rental Avis, Europcar, Hertz, National and Sixt are all represented at the airport; the booking counter is in Terminal 4.
Car Parking There are short-term car parks for each Terminal, with direct pedestrian access and disabled spaces. Car park P6 is a long-term car park linked to all the Terminals by a free shuttle bus.
Driving Directions The airport is situated between ring roads R2 and R3 on the A433 motorway, and is normally easily accessible (and well signposted) from central Hamburg, but there are currently delays on roads due to the construction of the A7 motorway which will connect the airport directly to Hamburg. The journey time is normally 30 minutes.
Public Transport & Taxis Taxis and limousine services to central Hamburg are readily available (journey time: 30 minutes) as are airport shuttles. Airport Express (tel: 40 22 71 06 61) runs bus services to the nearby Ohlsdorf U-Bahn/S-Bahn station every ten minutes, to Hamburg central station nonstop (a 30 minute journey) every 15-20 minutes, and to Altona train station every 30 minutes (a 31 minute journey) from Terminals 1 and 4. Hamburg Bus Lines run buses to the city centre and other points around Hamburg.
