University of Connecticut, also known as UConn, is a university in Storrs, Connecticut, which is about 28 miles (45 km) east of Hartford, the capital city of Connecticut. The University of Connecticut is known for its programs in health care administration, dentistry, and family studies.

Bachelors, master's, and doctoral programs are offered through the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the College of Continuing Studies, the Graduate School, the Neag School of Education, the School of Allied Health, the School of Business, the School of Dental Medicine, the School of Engineering, the School of Family Studies, and School of Fine Arts.

The UConn campus is located in Storrs between North Eagleville Road and South Eagleville Road, with Storrs Road cutting through the university campus from the north to the south. The university also has several regional branch campuses: Avery Point (in Groton, Connecticut), the Greater Hartford campus, Stamford, Torrington, and Waterbury.

UConn's sports teams are called the Huskies. They participate in the NCAA's Division I-A and in the Big East Conference, except for football, in which the university's program is I-A Independent as of 2003; and hockey, which is not sponsored by the Big East. The football program will join the Big East in 2004; the men's hockey program competes in Atlantic Hockey and the women's hockey program is a member of Hockey East.
